A Peek Inside: Participant Behavior and What it Means to Maximizing Retirement
This presentation looks back at the evolution of participant engagement within 401k plans and the impact (positive and negative) of action versus inaction on retirement outcomes. Next it outlines three effective tools for using participants' current levels of engagement to our advantage to improve outcomes in the long term. And by outcomes, we primarily mean expected levels of income in retirement from 401k plan savings. This presentation will also take a peek into what the future holds for 401k education programs and improved engagement techniques. And finally how these findings are rethinking the participant "behavior model."
