About our presenters:

Samuel T. Snow, CIMA®  (Executive Director, J.P. Morgan Asset Management)

Sam will provide a Guide to Markets during which he'll review inflation and the economy, Labor Market and recession, Fed and Interest Rates, Stock Market - Valuations, Earnings and Growth vs. Value, and have Q&A.

Sam began his career with J.P. Morgan in 2014 as an Internal Client Advisor. A member of the 2020 Client Advisor Met Club and 2017 Internal Client Advisor Met Club. Previously, Sam spent time at Dreyfus Investments as a Senior Internal Wholesaler and with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Prime Brokerage department. In addition, Sam played professional lacrosse for both the Denver Outlaws and the Florida Launch. Sam earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Fairfield University where he was also Captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team. He grew up on Bainbridge Island, WA but lives now in Salt Lake City, UT. Finally, Sam holds his Series 7 and 63 licenses.


Joe Tate, SPHR, SCP (Principal, Boost HR & Recruiting)

In this session we will explore communication and tactics for today’s leaders. Joe will discuss concepts from the book, The Culture Code, by Daniel Coyle including the pattern of using vulnerability to reduce the distance between leaders and followers. We will also discuss challenges, laws and employment strategies that will benefit organizations during the next 12 months. 

Joe Tate is a Human Resources executive with multi-national experience in Telecommunications, Technology, Financial Services and Management. Co-founder of Boost HR & Recruiting, he supports small, medium and large clients nationwide. Boost HR & Recruiting is a full-service recruiting and HR consulting firm. Joe is a self-described HR Dude, father of four and husband of one. He is an Employment Law specialist, U of U grad and Mountain Guide/Coach. 


John Walch (Shareholder at Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar)

John Walch will provide insights on a variety of recent employee benefit developments including statutory changes, new regulatory guidance and current trends impacting employee benefit plans.  Some topics include ESG regulations, fiduciary breach and other interesting cases, claim arbitration, SECURE 2.0 guidance and welfare plan issues.  

John Walch focuses on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified benefit plans, including equity-based incentive and compensation plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, qualified profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, ESOPs, pension and welfare benefit plans. For over 30 years, John has designed, drafted and obtained IRS approval of hundreds of qualified retirement plans.  For plans facing disqualification or violations of ERISA, he has obtained compliance statements from the IRS's Voluntary Compliance Program and the Dept. of Labor’s Voluntary Fiduciary Compliance program.  He also advises plan fiduciaries on operational issues involving QDROs, plan investment policies and fiduciary liability issues. John also has extensive experience obtaining individual prohibited transaction exemptions from the U.S. Department of Labor, defending IRS audits or DOL investigations of benefit plans and litigating ERISA cases. Additionally, John works with employers to design deferred compensation, stock option, stock appreciation right, phantom stock and other incentive plans.  He advises businesses on issues related to parachute payments, COBRA, HIPAA and other benefit plan issues. When he is not helping plan sponsors and administrators efficiently run their benefit plans, John likes to hike Utah’s mountains, read spy thrillers, and yell at his television while watching college football games.
