January Meeting: Consumerism and Healthcare
Date: Friday, January 18
Consumerism and Healthcare Consumerism in America has changed dramatically in recent years as internet shopping, price comparisons, and quality rankings have become widely available. However, these same trends in consumerism haven’t carried over into American healthcare choices. The DMBA Healthcare Systems Team will share some of its experience with consumerism in healthcare and the tools (such as telemedicine and transparency tools) it is utilizing to help DMBA health plan participants receive the right care at the right place at the right time. Kent Whiting is the Director of Healthcare Systems at DMBA and has 27 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Finance from BYU and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah. He is the father of five boys and lives in West Jordan with his wife, and he hopes to qualify for the 2020 Boston marathon.
