Our speakers include: Rob Paine – Supervisory Investigator, US Department of Labor, EBSA “What to Expect from a DOL Investigation” Mr. Paine manages a team of 8 investigators in conducting civil and criminal investigations focusing on employee benefit plan operations and the business, financial and medical claims processes of plan sponsors and service providers to employee benefit plans. His team assesses fiduciary conduct and/or criminal actions of plan officials and service providers; the appropriateness of plan investments; the payment of pension, health and welfare benefits; and compliance with ERISA and related civil and criminal federal and state laws. Prior to working with EBSA, Mr. Paine worked for several other Department agencies, including OSHA and the Office of Workers Compensation Program. Mr. Paine holds a BLA from the University of Illinois and an MLA from University of California, Berkeley. Tim Aguilar – Founder & CEO, CR-T “Cyber Security – Identifying Issues & Challenges” Address the dynamic security threats facing premise and cloud. Review common and developing security concerns. Examine systems and methods used to address ongoing threats and stability, as well as adaptable tools that support behavior change
In 1992, Tim founded Calculated Research and Technology. Over the next 25 years, he expanded the business and his team in becoming a driving force for Professional Services, Material hardware and software and Managed IT. Tim is a graduate of BYU and acts as a mentor to the Marriot School of Management Entrepreneurial Program. He is also serving on several corporate boards (Intel, Barracuda, BYU and Caeli) with a focus on technology, business strategy/development and the sciences. Jacob Gerber - American Funds “Improving Participant Outcomes & Global Market Trends” Jacob is an equity and multi-asset investment specialist at Capital Group. He has 19 year of investment industry experience, all with Capital Group. Earlier in his career at Capital, Jacob was a manager of the results analysis department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
